We are seeking a Senior Medical Coding Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding of medical procedures and diagnoses, while also providing leadership and guidance to our coding staff.
Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly review medical records and documentation to accurately assign appropriate codes.
- Ensure strict compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to address coding-related challenges.
- Provide comprehensive training and mentorship to coding staff.
- Stay abreast of evolving coding regulations and guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits to evaluate coding accuracy and identify areas for enhancement.
- Maintain precise and detailed coding records.
- Adhere unwaveringly to patient confidentiality and data privacy regulations.
Requirements:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in medical coding or a related field.
- Certification as a professional coder (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in medical coding.
- Profound knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance procedures.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Record Systems.
